Independent sports counsel

Esports law.
Personal counsel.

Esports contracts often govern competitive play, content creation and commercial appearances within the same agreement. I advise players, teams and agents on the rights they retain, the obligations they assume and the consequences of roster changes or termination.

Esports law & advisory

Competition and content.
Clear contractual boundaries.

I advise players on team contracts and commercial proposals, teams and clubs on player and sponsorship agreements, and agents and organisations on representation and contractual disputes.

01

Player & team agreements

I review remuneration, prize-money allocation, roster status, release terms and termination rights. Particular scrutiny is given to the relationship between playing commitments, content obligations and the duration of the contract.

02

Sponsorship, streaming & image rights

I assess agreements covering a player’s likeness, streaming, content and sponsor appearances. The review examines exclusivity, permitted uses, performance obligations and ownership, so that the extent of the rights granted is clear.

03

Representation & contractual disputes

I advise on representation terms and disputes concerning payment, contractual performance or termination. I examine the agreed dispute-resolution procedure, relevant correspondence and applicable competition or platform rules.

Discuss your matter

Tell me the circumstances.
We can discuss the options.

I welcome enquiries worldwide. Where a matter involves several countries, I consider the governing law, jurisdiction and any need for local counsel before agreeing the scope of work.

Useful details for your enquiry

  • The player, team or agency concerned and your role
  • The game, competition and countries involved
  • Whether the issue concerns playing, content, sponsorship or representation
  • Any roster, signing, payment or procedural deadline

A concise account of the matter is sufficient for an initial discussion. We can then agree how to share any confidential documents and, if I can assist, establish the scope and terms of the engagement.
